Recently I have had many discussions about the mentality of collectors and the materialistic nature of our society. In these discussions it has been very difficult to get my point across as precisely as I would like. Sometimes I feel like an alien from another planet when trying to communicate my ideas. It’s almost as if the people I am trying to explain them to are incapable of comprehending my thoughts. At RIT, and I’m sure many other colleges, there is a group of socialists. They are good people, modern hippies. They stand out in front of the library from time to time exercising their right to free speech. They try to hand out their proletariat promoting papers (alliteration ho!) and get into discussions with people walking to class. Maybe even freak some squares. But these people will never make a difference. It is rumored that Winston Churchill once said “If you’re 20 years old and not a socialist you have no heart. If you’re 40 years and you’re a socialist you have no brain.” But despite the fact that socialism isn’t going to work and is not a valid path for the US to take in the near future, these guys are still not going to recruit anyone who isn’t already a socialist or is leaning towards it. The reason is their presentation.

Blame has been a hot topic lately. From events local to my circle of friendsto the presidential elections, everyone is talking about blame. Who’s fault isit when there is a problem? Where should the buck stop? To be honest, I’m notsure 100% of the time. But, I have a system that I have followed for years, and it has suited me well. Not only does this system have strong logicalfoundations, but it makes my life a million times easier. So, I thought thatsince it is so relevant to what is going on today, and that I might help otherslive better lives, I would share my blame philosophy with you all.

There is a webcomic I read called “Boy on a Stick and Slither” or boasas for short. The latest comic seen here addresses an issue that has come up a lot for me lately. This issue is most prominent in the book I am currently reading entitled “The Fourth Way”. It is very obvious to me that my life is a routine. I do mostly the same thing day in and day out. Sometimes the routine changes and a new phase in my life begins. I can separate my entire life by routines and it worries me.
